Slippery Rock University's Flute Ensemble is making music! Anna O'Malley (Piccolo), Taylor Pastore (Flute 1), Rachel Kroner (Flute 2), Brooke Jordan (Flute 3), Rose Obergefell (Alto Flute), and Skyla Peltzman (Bass Flute), talk with their director, Dr. Cassandra Eisenreich, about the group. They perform "The Cypher Impact" by Nicole Chamberlain. Cassandra talks about commissioning that piece for the 2025 PMEA Conference, and her philosophy on teaching students music. The students each talk about their instruments, how they started the flute, and what they love most about the Ensemble at Slippery Rock. The seniors talk about graduation, and the juniors are looking forward to student teaching next year. They also talk about the extended techniques they use during "The Cypher Impact". The Flute Ensemble comprises of 17 students, and performs a variety of concerts each year for the community. They look forward to the next Fall concert, and their next commissioned piece. There is so much to learn at Slippery Rock University!
