Director and conductor of the Musicians’ Concert Band from Butler PA, Jeff Kroner, discusses his band and their upcoming concerts with WQED-FM intern Giovanni Mori. The Musicians’ Concert Band, consists of players with a wide variety of ages, occupations, and musical backgrounds. Every year they perform a series of concerts full of many challenging and entertaining pieces at the Butler Intermediate High School. As they approach their 39th season, Jeff talks about joining the band after graduating high school. He also talks about his experience putting together the concert series as director and conductor. While the Musicians’ Concert Band’s summer concert was unfortunately postponed this year, Jeff is currently preparing a holiday concert! It will be later this year on Sunday, November 23rd.
