The 48 Hour Film Project is gearing up for another Spring bash in Pittsburgh! Producer of the 48 Film Project in Pittsburgh, PJ Gaynard, spoke in this episode about the project, and why film is such a big connector of people in the city. The Project goes from April 25th to 27th with group screenings from May 17th to 19th, and awards on May 31st. PJ talks about how people from across the area, including Penn State, come together to form groups. These groups, with some barebones of a character, dialogue, and genre, create 4 to 7 minute short films in 48 hours. PJ also talks about the workshops that the 48 Hour Project hosts leading up to April. One of those is at a WQED Crew Connect on February 26th at Red Caiman Studios. PJ highlights the Film Composers workshop with Nathaniel Blume before the Crew Connect. These events are great to meet local filmmakers, find your group for 48 hour, or pitch your next project! There will also be a Meet and Greet at Velum Fermentation on March 24th open to all! PJ also talks about the history of film in the area, and how two men changed it forever. He hopes filmmakers from around the area come to have fun, connect, and continue to make great films. Camera, Lights, Action!
